Nolan Wible to Nicholls State University
Nolan Wible has been appointed Assistant Professor of High Brass and Jazz Ensemble Director at Nicholls State University.
Nolan Wible is a trumpet player, educator and arranger residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His versatility of sound and style has allowed him the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings. Nolan has performed across the country with artists like DK Harrell, Big Boy Brass, Brasshearts Brass Band, Lawrence Sieberth, The Stone Bratt Big Band and The Glenn Miller Orchestra. In addition to keeping a busy freelancing schedule, Nolan is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts at Louisiana State University under the direction of Dr. Ross Ahlhorn and Professor Doug Stone. As a member of the LSU Gold Brass Quintet, Nolan was a semifinalist in the 2023 International Trumpet Guild Conference Chamber Music Competition.
An active band leader, Nolan debuted his jazz octet in Philadelphia in March of 2023. The band has performed across the country and recently made its New Orleans debut at the Marigny Opera House. Nolan has also done a variety of educational outreach masterclasses and performances at high schools and summer camps.
Nolan Wible was recently appointed as Assistant Professor of High Brass at Nicholls State University. At Nicholls, Nolan leads the trumpet and French horn studios and serves as the director of the Jazz Ensemble. (Source: Nolan Wible)
