2024 ITG Competition Rules and Regulations Announced
Each year at its annual conference, the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) hosts several divisions of competition as part of the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition.
In 2024, the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition will undergo major changes, which will include:
-The age limit for eligibility has been raised. The age of all competitors must be 28 years or less on June 1, 2024.
- A new Chamber Music Division, open to groups of 3-10 of any instrumentation that includes trumpet (new as of 2023)
-Semi-Final Rounds; ITG will invite up to 15 performers to a new semi-final round for Solo, Orchestral Excerpts, Wind Band, Jazz, and Chamber Music Divisions (Previously only three students were invited to compete at the conference)
-Discounted conference registration fee of $75 for all semi-finalists
-Solo Division prescreen (recorded) round no longer has required repertoire, allowing students to submit their current solo they are working on at their university.

ITG is excited to provide these new opportunities, and looks forward to having more students involved in the 2024 Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition.
The semi-final and final rounds will be held as part of the 2024 ITG Conference in Anaheim, CA, May 28 - June 1, 2024.
