First Prize shall be $1000 (from the Historic Brass Society) and a new Maller Brass Natural Trumpet, Second Prize shall be $500 (from the Historic Brass Society) and a new BfB Baroque trumpet, and Third Prize shall be $200 from the Baroque Trumpet Shop. The adjudicators may also award Honorable Mentions to non-winners.
The application fee shall be $35 and all competitors must be members of the Historic Brass Society.
Competitors will have the option playing with or without vent holes. The adjudicators will be experienced practitioners who recognize the challenge of playing with and without vent holes, as well as the added difficulty imposed by certain repertoire.
