In Memoriam: Frank Kaderabek (1929–2023)

ITG mourns the passing of Frank Kaderabek.

Frank Kaderabek (1929-2023) has passed away at the age of 94 on December 28, 2023. He was an outstanding orchestral trumpet player, soloist, teacher, and educator.

Frank Kaderabek held the positions of principal trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra (1975-1995), Dallas Symphony (1953-1958), Detroit Symphony (1966-1975), and associate principal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (1958-1966). Alongside his impressive orchestral career, Frank appeared as a featured soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Grant Park Symphony, Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, and the Bach Festival.

Frank served was an active member of ITG, where he served on the ITG Board of Directors. He taught at Curtis Institute of Music, West Chester University, Oakland University, University of Michigan, and Temple University.
