David Elton to London Symphony Orchestra

On December 11, 2017, David Elton was appointed principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra.

He will share the role as principal trumpet with Phil Cobb. Elton comes to the LSO from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Australia, where he was principal trumpet for six years. Prior to this, he was principal trumpet of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Queensland Conservatorium, where he studied with Yoram Levy, and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University, where he studied with Charlie Geyer.
