Music for Autism Announces 2017 Spotlight Artists
Music for Autism is pleased to announce its 2017 Spotlight Artists, trumpeter Kiku Collins and trombonist David Gibson.
The Spotlight Artist distinction is Music for Autism’s recognition of not just exceptional musicianship but also dedicated service to those with autism and their families.
“With so much compassion, love, enthusiasm, grace and heart, Kiku and David have shared their talents with the families we serve. This award is a long overdue recognition of their profound humanity and many contributions to Music for Autism,” stated Music for Autism founder, Dr. Robert Accordino.
“David plays with a velvety sound and impeccable style that resonates with our audiences” noted Ryan Gardner, International Trumpet Guild Board Member and Artist Coordinator for Los Angeles and New York. Speaking of Kiku, New York Concert Coordinator Linda Blacken says that she “personifies perseverance and strength in the face of adversity and is a proponent of empowering girls and women to realize their potential, both in the music industry and in life.”
