Pacho Flores in Brazil

Pacho Flores recently visited Brazil and performed two concerts as guest soloist with the Sao Paulo State Youth Symphony Orchestra. He played the first concert Guarulhos on October 14 and another concert at Sala São Paulo in São Paulo on October 15, 2017.

In addition to his performances with the symphony orchestra, he taught two master classes at the São Paulo State Music School (EMESP) Tom Jobim in São Paulo on October 12 and 13. The master classes were coordinated by Edilson Nery and Edmilson Gomes, both trumpet teachers of the EMESP Tom Jobim.

On October 13, Flores presented a warm-up session. He demonstrated how he warms up on the mouthpiece and showed the benefits of using UpSound, a Stomvi warm-up and practice device for use with brass instrument mouthpieces. Flores led attendees in a practice routine of scales, multiple tonguing, flexibility, and range. 
 
In addition, Flores he coached three students in repertoire including Concerto for Trumpet in E-flat (Neruda), Concerto (Arutiunianand Rustiques (Eugene Bozza).
