Tarleton State University’s Brass Day

On January 28th, 2017, Tarleton State University (Stephenville, Texas) held its fifth annual Brass Day.

This year's guest artists were the Boston Brass. Many brass players from around the region attended, including students from Angelo State University, Texas Tech University, University of Texas - Arlington, Hill College and McLennan Community College.

The event began with Tarleton brass faculty members providing warm-up/daily routine master classes to attendees. After morning performances by multiple student ensembles, the Boston Brass provided a master class focused on ensemble skills and rehearsal techniques.

The afternoon sessions began with performances from several attending college professors, followed shortly by a Q&A session and performance from the Boston Brass. The group’s performance was highlighted by several features from each ensemble member and concluded with a standing ovation from the audience.
